For those of you that don’t know, in February this year a had a little baby girl, who we named Violet, I have been so busy looking after this little bundle of joy that I put art aside for a while.
I was determined to create at least one piece of art this year and as time was extremely limited I had to change my usual method of working.
I wanted to create an artwork that reflected this big change in my life and the experience of mothering a new baby.
I decided that if I couldn’t commit to creating a big picture at once I would instead try to create a small picture everyday along with a diary entry, even drawing the smallest picture was an effort and at times I didn’t even get to do it at all.
My small pictures were drawn over a period of 5 months and then pieced together to tell a story of motherhood.
My picture will be on show at the North London Artist Network Group Show 2015, taking place at The Strand Gallery, 32 John Adam Street, London WC2N 6BP. The Exhibition opens daily from Tuesday 10th November till Sunday 15th November.
BBC Security Correspondent Frank Gardner OBE will be opening the show on Tuesday 10th November.
There are over 30 Artists Exhibiting, a diverse range of subjects and techniques, looking forward to seeing it myself!
